Week 5
Assignment 3 has just begun and we've been introduced to some ideas from outside parties for the final assignment.
For assignment three my team has hit the ground running with an idea that we think we can have a polished product for by submission. Our project aims to fix attendance taking for groups on campus.
Currently, what clubs do to take attendance is copy and paste an attendance 'list' in a whatsapp group. Therefore, each time someone wants to check in they must send a message to the entire group.
We think this solution is not elegant and can be greatly improved considering that attendance is so important to club leadership. Our idea is to create a mobile site where a user can create a 'club' (abstracted to a group) and 'events' for the group. They can quickly share an event or club via a copy-able link to their whatsapp group where others can register if they plan on attending. Before the event starts we can send a push notification to anyone who said they would attend. Once at the event the admin can present a code of some sort that only present members will enter into the webapp to verify their attendance. The admin can later see statistics for attendance information.
I was mostly interested in joining SGInnovate because I think their project is doable within the time frame and I have interest in the possibility of taking on a product management role for the project. Additionally, I think they would pay well and provide great support along the projects development.

Assignment 4
Today we heard external pitches fr Assignment 4. Most of the project were basic web interfaces to view data -- typical.I was mostly interested in joining SGInnovate because I think their project is doable within the time frame and I have interest in the possibility of taking on a product management role for the project. Additionally, I think they would pay well and provide great support along the projects development.
