Week 3

Lectures

I especially enjoyed the lectures this week and was excited to hear from a professor who had won so many awards for teaching talk about public speaking and from a serial entrepreneur and some of her recommendations for UI/UX.

Specifically, I thought Su Yuen gave reminders that everyone should listen closely to: don't do more work then is needed. She reminded us all of this when presenting the various tools for rapid prototype building including envision and others. Prototyping a tool before building to show to potential users is HUGE yet something I often dismiss when it comes time to build a project.

Additionally, looking for bootstrap design templates is great advice -- especially for a room full of engineers. With a $25 bootstrap template an engineer can create a well-designed website with minimal effort.

Work

Assignment 1: This week my team and I met to plan out Sprint 2 (this week) and made good progress organizing the tasks that need to be done. Specifically we need to work on design, audio + 2 truths and a lie component, and early user testing.

Assignment 2: Our group was assigned Google Trips. We've met and have created a outline for our powerpoint template. We will meet tomorrow (friday) to practice the presentation before submission.

Comments

  1. Good progress! as I'm writing this it's already week 4 (after your presentation) and I think your group did a pretty good job for assignment 2! keep up the good work!
